Spring

Hello. Let me give an introduction of who I am and what I do before I go into this blog.  My name is Vanessa McCoy and I’m a self publishing author.  I wrote and published three books (Metamorphosis Love: The Beginning Vol. 1, Metamorphosis Love: Pleasant Dreams & Wishes Vol. 2, & Metamorphosis Love: Tangible Love Vol.3) as eBooks and later as paperbacks.  Metamorphosis Love is a collection of poems that shows my transition from being in relationships with men to being in a relationship with Jesus.  I started writing poems to my boyfriend when I was in the eleventh grade while I was attending a Creative Writing program in the summer at my high school.  I had fun expressing my thoughts and feelings on paper.  I stopped writing two years later because I married my high school boyfriend and we had a family.  As a first time wife and mother of two, my life became very busy.  Well, things didn’t turn out the way I planned, we got a divorce, and I really started experiencing life as a young, divorced parent.  After finding my way back to Jesus and being healed from a broken heart, Jesus told me to publish the poems I wrote in my early years.  Jesus even told me to go back to what I love to do…write.  This is my first blog.  I’m a little bit nervous, but I hope you’ll like it.

Man! It felt like March was taking forever to get here, BUT, it’s finally here! Yayyyyy!!  Did you know March is the first month of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere (North America, Europe, Asia, and part of Africa)?  And did you know it’s the first month of Fall or Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere (South America, part of Africa, and Oceania)?  Although this isn’t my favorite season, I’ll take Spring over Winter any day! Why?  It’s amazing watching budding flowers, plant blades breaking through the ground or dirt in a pot, and leaves sprouting on trees.  It’s like watching the rebirth of nature. Not only is Spring known for rebirth, but it’s known for renewal, rejuvenation, new growth, development, new beginnings, love, romance, reproduction, exploration, creativity, hope, and joy.

To finally come out of wearing dark colors and put on some warm pastel colors like lilac, baby blue, yellow, pink, mint green, and peach brings joy to my heart. These soft colors and some warm weather can brighten up a person’s heart. They can change a person’s mood to joy, happiness, or excitement.  I know warm weather and pastel colors changes my mood in a great way. They put me in the mood to want to go window shopping to see new line of clothes on the racks, to smell new candle scents, or go wherever just as long as I’m getting out the house while it’s warm outside.  I switch up the candles I burn in my home to a light floral fragrance. Sometimes, I’ll burn a candle that has a fruity scent. Most times, I’ll burn fruity candles in the Summer season.  These are some reasons I’m looking forward to Spring season.

So tell me,

  • How do you feel when the season shifts from Winter to Spring?
  • What are some things you like to do in the Spring season?
